Help needed to finish our living room
Comments (25)I think the three prints above the sofa are too symmetrical and the black rectangular frames a little on the masculine side. You could have a number of prints of different sizes with different frames instead. Perhaps one large one with a couple medium and small or something. I'm struggling to find a photograph of what I mean online but if you do an image search for 'prints above sofa' you might find something of the kind. That with some softer, warmer colours could work....See MoreHelp me finish our living room please!?
Comments (7)Hi Elizabeth, I absolutely agree that you need to soften the look and going for a geometric or retro pattern will also add a bit of interest too and make your room feel more alive, In terms of colours I would say that if you want a more luxurious feeling the navy is the way to go for and if you want more retro then orange would be best. Do have a look at our selection of rugs on Hutsly and you might just find the piece you are looking for like one of these: You can see the whole collection of rugs here: http://www.hutsly.com/collections/rugs Hope that helps and good luck! Comments (5)Hi, [Have you considered changing your sofa's for 1 large L shaped sofa with all the[(https://www.houzz.co.uk/photos/have-you-considered-changing-your-sofas-for-1-large-l-shaped-sofa-with-all-the-phvw-vp~103171084) seats you need? The TV in the corner can be brought out to the edge of the corner so the person seated more towards the door can still view the Tv. By removing the 2 seater underneath the stairs, that space can be used as the children corner where toys can be parked when not in use, and even a small library (?) for them. A middle to large plant placed next to the window where currently you have a white table. Strategically place a coffee table and side table and 'fill' the rest of the room with a beautifully large high pile rug. The rest of the 'empty' space can be for where the children can expand their playing territory if you can get them off the cozy rug. Goodluck! PS. The image in the post is my advice, the L shape should start next to the heater underneath the window, for some reason it was saved the other way around in sketch....See MoreHelp with finishing living room
Comments (14)There is too much furniture in the room. Consider moving one of the chairs to another part of the house then put the remaining chair by the window. Surround the chair with small table, a table lamp, cushions, a plant, a throw, and curtains to create a nice cozy area by the window. Move the main sofa so that it faces the TV. The remaining wall consider a side board to go under the artwork or replace with mirror. Add lamp, candles, basket for warmth. and finally a rug to tie it all together...See MoreMelody
