Paint for both timber board & batten AND the wall?

Hi,
In my bathroom I'm putting faux board and batten on one of the walls, using a planed stripwood pine. But, how do i go about painting both the wall and the timber the exact same? It was my understanding (mistakenly?) that you can't use emulsion on wood. We've a dark green silk emulsion that i was hoping to use. Would priming the timber be enough to use the emulsion on, or will i need to do something else? Obviously, want there to be seemless colour and finish between the wall and the wood.
Thanks
