Insulating a damp bathroom that already has exterior render?
Comments (4)Hi Guy, Internal solid wall insulation usually involves fitting ready-made rolls or boards of insulating material over the inside walls of your house. This can be disruptive - You may need to relocate, radiators and fitted furniture as well as a slight reduction in floor space owing to the extra thickness of insulated walls. . Your walls will need to be carefully prepared before internal wall insulation can be fitted. Any damaged plaster needs to be either repaired or removed, and bare brickwork should be treated to eliminate areas where air can escape. We would also suggest painting on a waterproof paint on the wall so no water penetrates past the brick. Hope this helps? For more tips and advice check out our blog. Comments (36)That colour was f&b stony ground which is actually red based but I think must have some green in, I thought it would work with the terracotta tiles. Something like the lighter shaded white may also work although colours are normally a couple of shades lighter on the exterior. The previous owners of our house painted it farrows cream, I swear it gets more yellow each day! I don’t know anything about the render tbh but I don’t think it needs any maintenance for 20-30 years hence the initial application cost is dearer. I’ve attached this link as I’ve come across a few similar comments (but as I say I don’t know anything about the render and you’re always going to get negative reviews of things). It might be worth creating a separate post on traditional versus through coloured render if you have any concerns? http://www.ebuild.co.uk/topic/15160-traditional-render-v-k-rend/...See MoreAdvise needed on exterior render colour

Comments (21)Finally getting around to thinking about finishing the painting again ... and I went to b&q but all the white masonry there was pure white or yellow toned. Got some card samples of valspar but wow - it’s expensive and can’t decide between some. I have a Johnstone’s and dulux paint mix service closer to me and they mix F&B colours at Johnstone’s. Wondering if Wimbourne white is any good??? I tried emailing K rend AGAIN to ask what paint matches their pure white render (which is just off white) but no response. Any experience with wimbourne? Is it a warmer/softer not blue white than timeless?...See MoreDaisy England
