Love the chairs

Hi! I'm looking for a lower-backed Windsor style chair, so these caught my eye. I love them! Can you tell me who makes them, and whether they've held up? Thank you!

Hi Jackie,

The low back ones are the Hay J77 chairs (the carvers are the Hay J110) - my clients still have them and I think really like them. We did have an issue with one chair but it was a manufacturing issue and was sorted out by the manufacturer (and supplier) really well.

Like the colour scheme and all your accessories , especially the chair . Duck egg is a lovely restful colour for bedrooms . The only minor thing I would change is the drawer knobs....a small change that could make a better impact .

I'm not sure blue is the way to go. I think introducing a fifth colour will work. You currently have the sea grass sofa, grey chairs, white table, brown floor. I'd go with the grey or the sea grass for continuity. The living room has two views - not sure if one's old and one's newly decorated. The first is the straight view through the door in to what looks like a hallway and appears grey like the walls in the dining room:- The other looks like another room straight through, but the doorway looks 'amended', so not sure if you were trying out different colours or the view just appears a little weird. Anyway, it doesn't matter, i'd stick with the grey, sea grass and white. I'd also put the T.V on something higher as currently it's quite low down. The T.V could also do with being a bit larger, and I'd move the lamp to behind the sofa otherwise it will glare in front of you and impede t.v viewing.

Hi Gillian What a beautiful room. If I were visiting you I would ask lots of questions but for this exercise here today I will give you my initial thoughts based on the information you've provided. If this is to be the TV room, i.e. the only room where you relax and enjoy TV then the TV has to be the focus. The room is very difficult with interruptions to the walls (doors, radiators and a window), and focal points (TV, fireplace, window), so I'm going to be radical in suggesting you change the fireplace so that you can have your TV above it. The mantelpiece as it stands is too high BUT if the fireplace were changed to a moden low level design (perhaps gas or bio-fuel) you could easily have the TV above it. I would then look to incorporate the doors into the decor by painting them to match the walls rather than have them stand out visually. When the TV is off the floor you will have more floor area to play with when it comes to choosing and laying out the furniture. Hope that helps. Best wishes Yasmin
