What practical feature/item do you secretly crave for your house?
Comments (98)Lights which automatically turn on when I enter a room (especially in the kitchen and in the hallway from the bedroom to the bathroom) and lights inside my wardrobes (especially inside the one in the bedroom: I often get up earlier than my hubby, and it may be still dark outside, and I don't want to wake him up while I'm looking for my stockings)....See MoreDo you have parking space outside your home?
Comments (29)They paved paradise and out up a parking lot. Then when it rained hard the toilets all overflowed. Permeable paving and planting to soften and break it up could avoid widespread catastrophe. If the space in front of house where big enough I would create something with planting around and amongst it. It isn't big though. It might just fit a tiny electric car but that wouldn't be adequate for work....See MoreHow to make this house look nicer on the outside?!
Comments (15)The problem is not the house, it's the hard landscaping - too much of it! The front of the house looks like a car park. If you can afford it resin bound gravel paving is brilliant for driveways and much softer than block paving. Also, it looks like you've got loads of parking space, so re-introduce some planting, either by cutting borders into the paving around the house and along the boundary, or by adding some planters. This will help set the house into its plot and soften the overall look of the front making it a garden rather than a car park. Front driveways don't need to be all business. I've attached a photo of a front driveway that I've just finished in Woking, Surrey. You could use some soft, low-maintenance grasses and box balls like I've done here to create some movement and texture. Also, I think I'd render the brickwork on the porch so that it doesn't look quite so prominent. Try painting the side gate black to help it blend into the background rather than introducing yet another colour/material as at present....See Moreoutside of house - need ideas
Comments (26)Hi, Maybe just simply adding some outdoor lighting, could really change up the look of your home. This also adds added security to your living space which is always welcomed. I do also love the idea of a small porch, which could again break up and add character to your home. Here are some outdoor lights that I feel would fit your exterior nicely.
