Gas or Induction? To fry or not to fry?

About to build a wrap around extension - I will have lots of questions!


But my main one, for now, which hob do I get?


I have always had gas in the past but in this new property there is an induction hob which I HATE with a passion.

i do love to cook but have so far found you cannot get enough heat through the pans ( I do have the proper pans)

Much to my disappointment my favourite steak pan just spun on the surface! As did my curry pan!


i have since managed to ‘boil’ pork chops, steak and bacon. Don’t even mention stir fry’s!


So have they come on leaps and bounds in The past few years? Is it possible to sear a steak or do stir fry’s on them?


i know they look very sleek but are they all looks and no function?
