Comments (1)I think that a vestibule may be the way to go with the sides covered but the front open which leaves the front door to be exposed and still the feature you're looking for. I'd also try to tie this in to some railway sleeper planters so they fit well together. Hope this helps and happy to give more feedback if wanted....See MoreFront Garden Design Turning Circle Driveway
Comments (5)The only way to get this right is to create a carefully scaled plan. One thing which would make the result a lot better is to make the 'roundabout' a raised bed so that you have some changes in level. That would also mean retaining some of the 'dig out' where you are extending the driveway. If you are extending the existing driveway by more than 5 square meters (which you will be), it needs to be a porous surface or have planning approval if it is not porous (in the U.K. that is). A lot of contractors either don't know this or don't care. Drainage is a a huge issue for everyone, overflowing toilets are not good for anyone....See MoreExtending a small 3 bed semi
Comments (11)Ha ha, I did wonder if that was the case. Planners might deem it overkill if we went out at the side as well as up and it would be on the boundary wall with the neighbour as well. Maybe if it was only a the end section it would be ok but I'd have to ask the planners The issue is that if we built into our driveway then we couldn't have a garage - not one that useable for cars as such. It's not a wide driveway so the garages are all set back into the garden (the owners of this one have removed it so we have to put one in anyway!) I guess it doesn't really matter as long as we leave enough drive behind the gate as I only want a garage to convert into a workshop I presume the value of a garage is really just about having a useable outbuilding??...See MoreExtending driveway - how to join?
