Our house's exterior colours??
Comments (8)Thank you! From Little Greene I'm currently trying the various shades of Slaked Lime and, French Grey, and Cool Arbour... I also liked Hardwick White, Off-White, etc etc (FnB)... :/ I just can't decide whether the painted stone, ie rough/wobbly texture looks ok darker, or not. Or whether to do frames a mid-greyish tone, with soft white walls...or. just paint the lot white! The frames on the stone wall sides make any shades look different again......See MoreFront Door Paint Colour
Comments (11)There's probably a lot of houses nearby that have similar colours in the brick and similar doorways so wander around and see if any inspire you. I like a muted mid-green against the brick. Blues (and teals) also look good with the orange brick. You've got to make sure the colour isn't too 'clean' though (so not a clean baby blue) as the render and brick are both 'dirty'/muted colours. I'd prefer to see something either paler or more colourful - but nothing too dark as it just turns the space into a black hole (like your neighbours). Another option is to paint the woodwork around the door a pale neutral and then just paint the actual door the colour - it'll stick out more that way rather than blend into the background. I agree with you on the black windowsills - they are making the windows appear smaller and look like bags under the eyes of the house. It does tie in the black from the woodwork on the gable end though and keeps it in keeping with the neighbours - would you consider painting all the woodwork on the front of the house?...See Morewhat to do about pebbledash?

Comments (15)Mine is Oxford stone render, joas white walls and pointing windows. I colour matched to Crown trade (due to both expense and wasn’t happy with existing F&B render). I heard someone say on here recently the quality of Crown wasn’t great but it seemed fine to me. Weirdly the decorator had an eggshell tester mixed for wood and it glided on. I was also looking at the Elle Decoration range of paints with Crown earlier today which is probably quite a good endorsement? This is the only pic I have (hubby put Xmas lights on the olives and got him to take a pic to see if he’d done them nicely, not! 😂 ). Sorry it was obviously getting dark at the time...See MoreHU-80355926658
