Comments (7)I recently got a Pronorm kitchen in a matt grey (slate colour) and white gloss from Alaris - an online company, but I visited their showroom in Dartford. Significantly cheaper than via our local Pronorm studio. Schmidt also had a lovely option, surprisingly good price when we stuck to our guns. Comments (115)Hello! It’s arrived but is being fitted Monday :0) The colour wasn’t quite what I wanted as although it’s not supposed to have any blue in it, if can look blue in some lights. I don’t mind it looking deep navy but sometimes it looks lighter. Will see when it’s all up though as with the worktop on the island and overhang, it will probably just look more black! Bear in mind the company didn’t use actually F&B paints as they mix their own. Definately advises paying for a test door first as they got the colour totally wrong at first (was bright blue!) and it was hard work getting the manufacturers to check it and do it again. Comments (46)Ikea Kitchens are excellent, the attention to quality is superb. Lots of suppliers only offer doors in particular sizes, which is why when you go to an appointment at Wickes for example and you then take it to Howdens, they often have to swap the cabinets around as they don't all do all the sizes. Factoring in that you may want to change the doors in a few years at this point is in my opinion daft. You buy a kitchen and it should last 10-15 years. Magnet and Howdens offer great kitchens too. However, I have personal experience of fitting an Ikea Kitchen last year and was very impressed. I've used Howdens several times too. There are many companies however, that offer custom sizes when ordering replacements such as Kitchen door workshop and Kitchen Door Outlet to name but two. Comments (4)Hello maybe I can help...................In the UK the big "designer" players tend to dominate the market but we have two mid market Italian kitchens partners who make great Italian designed kitchen without the huge cost. The companies are ARAN Kitchens : http://arancucine.com/kitchens/ and OIKOS Kitchens : http://oikoscucine.it We buy direct from the factory and we use these collections a lot. 4 years agoI am sure the kitchens you supply are of good quality, quite likely equal to the German & Italian kitchens where and when the style & finish are the same. However, I personally love the Italians for their style and simplicity, and for the huge range of possibilities they provide.
