where can I place the TV

hello all

I live in switzerland, hence a small apartment; my dilemma is where can I place the TV?

this is a design of what I want to do: right now the couch is in the middle of the room, cutting the room in 2 and the TV on the wall in front which would be fine but there is no room to move; therefore I want to place it against the wall, where the TV is now as in the approx design but then I have no room for the TV; one wall is made of windows, another is the corridor and the open kitchen; I was thinking of a TV wall mount with an extending arm and turning 360° on top of the couch: have you ever done that?

A floor plan with measurements is best. The bit marked corridor.... is that all actually open space, is you could put a couch somewhere along there as a divider?

hi Ellie and thank you for the reply; unfortunately, I do not have a software to do a plan but I will try to find one; in any case your idea is not feasible as the corridor is the point of access to the kitchen and living room

They're available all over the place. Amazon, Made.com Ebay Ikea also sell a few different ones. What are you looking for specifically? If you're not having a lot of luck, maybe it's the search term, as you put that you want a floating tv stand...................try looking for floating wall unit.

Thank you very much for your help - this will be a bit of a re-wiring project and I am not sure that all of the tv tech will fit as it is all so wide with the long wide stand and speakers but ultimately you have given us the right layout solution for the use of the room so thank you all 👍🏻

this is the way it is now but I would like to put the couch to the wall in front of where irt is now but I do not know where to put the TV

Would this be an option? With the TV on the corridor wall? I mean, it's not very clear what the room looks like. Photos always help to, so we can visualise. Click on the pic to enlarge it.

Or, keep the TV where it is, place the sofa along the window wall and have the TV at a height which will make viewing easy, especially from the comfy chair I've added. Maybe?

thank you so much for your effort.

the corridor is not an option because it is where you access the living room; I made a plan of the living/dining only but as you can see, I placed a library where the corridor is: in front of the library is the access to the kitchen, and the second opening behind the right side of the table, is a semi wall with an opening to the kitchen: so the table must remain there and the TV cannot go to the corridor, else I cannot access the living.

I tried the couch against the window but, it is in fact a window to the floor that gets you to the terrace, so it is very not practical (both windows on that side are access to the terrace).

I was thinking of moving the library behind the couch to the wall in front and maybe hang the TV on that wall, with a wall mount that turns: not ideal because this library would make accessing to the table quite hard: if I cannot find another solution that is what I will do but I was hoping that the experts in this forum might have ideas... :-)

Without photos it's difficult for us to visualise what the room looks like. Perhaps you can post some under here, to make it easier for us to think of a solution to your problem :-)

Are you considering just one option, that the TV is hanging on the wall? Based on the planning, perhaps it`d be better to put it in front of the couch?

hi thanks for the late reply :-) I have changed the room furniture so now the entire display is different. I ended up hanging the TV on the wall and I can turn it towards the couch that is now on the back wall where the buffet used to be
