should I replace all or partly of my kitchen?
Hi, I am quite confused with my kitchen refurbishment. I need to replace my lower cabinets as I need to fix a bigger dishwasher and add more space. I am also changing my worktop. Meanwhile, on the right side as shown in the images, I have tower cabinets which are in pretty good condition and have no reason to be replaced.
I wonder if I should still replace them for the sake of being consistent with the new cabinets being installed. Or just repaint them with same handles as used in the rest of the kitchen? It's costing me £3,500 extra if I replace these tower cabinets.

Comments (11)I must admit I am scratching my head a bit on this one - the two slightly different shades of cream don't make it easy! If everything wasn't split new, I think I would be recommending changing the tiles. I'm not a fan of painting tiles either, but I am really at a loss as to what to suggest. A teal perhaps or verdigris, but I think whatever colour you pick, the tile/cabinet combination may still feel a little unbalanced. Might be worth thinking what you can do to mask the tiles with nicely coloured appliances, possibly an accessory rail, fruit bowl, plants/herbs etc....See MoreShould I paint my kitchen island?
Comments (15)Well I like the downpipe but I think the colour of the back units is throwing it out, these seem to be more creamy? What colour are they painted? Would you be willing to change them too? Comments (0)There is an open plan room in my apartment that serves as the kitchen and dining/living room. Currently the kitchen zone has tile floors and the dining/living zone have 16mm engineered wood floors. The entire room has underfloor heating but it is split into two zones. I've decided to update the kitchen and have the same floors throughout the room. The current floors are 15+ years old so the wood has a few scratches and some dark damaged bits. I don't know if it would be better to refinish the existing wooden floor zone and then just add a colour matched new wooden floor in the kitchen zone or to replace the whole lot. 4 years agoThanks for the thoughts, really helpful. This is screenshot of the price for the tower units that I have pulled out from the overall.
I have got it checked from a fitter, and there is not enough space for the bigger dishwasher to fit in as the sink is right next to it. So, unless the sink is moved, I can't fit in a bigger dishwasher. And in return, I will need to change the worktop to move out the sink further away..That's the reason, I have to renew the lower cabinets. And if I leave this tower cupboards, I am not sure if it'll look odd to pair with the new kitchen..
