Choosing matching curtains

Hi,
I've just purchased this bedding. I'd like to get some curtains to match but ones that will be long lasting as has two windows which are.pretty large. Any suggestions?

a photo would help to see the walls, floor colour etc. Also how old is your child re length of curtains?

What cute bedding! Depends on your wall colour. If the walls are quite neutral then I think the duck egg within the bedding is a lovely shade. However if you want the curtains to last and adapt with the changing bedding as your child grows, then perhaps simple white would be good, or a shade near to the wall colour if it’s a calm shade. Here are some examples of pale or white curtains.

Ok I think I have found some colors to choose from. The sun comes through the window most of the day with it being a south facing window and in the morning sunrises on wall 4 and sets on wall 2. Love the wallpaper, very classical. Is this a patio door opening to the garden? How much natural light does the room get? These factors influence your choice of fabric eg if u get a lot of sun don’t get a silk material as the sun will damage it. If you don’t get a lot of sun go for a fabric that will help bounce light around eg something with a sheen. Get a fabric that doesn’t ‘bunch’ around the door otherwise it will get in the way as you enter and exit and get tatty. Think about the curtain fixings and the space available above the door and window. Think about the headings you like. In terms of colour, cream and beige are neutral colours (but be aware whether they are cool or warm shades) so you could compliment with colours blue-violet, red, cool blue green - if u buy a colour wheel from amazon (very cheap) you will see how best to pair colours. As curtains are expensive, buy these first and then choose accessories like mirrors as black is a statement and you need to be confident the colours will be complementary. The curtain factory in Finchley London used to offer good bargains. Best of luck.

My living room is so similar to your dining room, it faces North-East, with a big bay window. With the help of Houzzers I painted it F&B Cromarty (a grey-green). I painted my fireplace Dulux Brilliant White as well as the skirting and architrave. I actually like the cleanliness of this white. The wall above the picture rail is white as is the ceiling. Would you consider painting your fireplace white? Difficult to say whether Dark Ivy is warm or cool as It’s such a deep colour. I’ll leave that for others to say! I think it would look nice on that fireplace wall.

Hi Charlotte, what fun bedding! I would choose a colour or two from the bedding and use those in other accessories and the curtains across the room. For me I think I'd choose the blue and teal - they will last as a colour palette into teenage hood and also are very versatile. they are also fun and playful and you don't want to overlook fun in a child's room. Do post the room when it's done!

Hi Charlotte, as the bedding has a few colours you have quite a bit of choice. If you get the curtains professionally made they would last you for many years and you can choose a fabric and colour way that would work now and when your children are older.
