POLL: Do you have enough storage in your kitchen?
Comments (17)My kitchen is small - just under 11ft x 11ft and it was superbly designed. For the first time ever I have everything I need in an easy to reach organised space. I have a tall larder unit which is priceless and my cupboards reach back into the corners (and it's in these that I store my rarely used crockery.) This kitchen is smaller than my last but due to clever design it holds far more and I am very pleased with it (including a dishwasher, tumble dryer, washing machine.)...See MorePOLL: Where do you display your wedding photos?
Comments (22)I plan to do something a lot like this on a wall at the top of our hallway which you see when going up the stairs. Will have one or two photos from the wedding day along with some family photos and favourite holiday pics (we have some incredible ones from our trips to Iceland and would be a shame to never see them). 99% of the time its just us in our home so I don't see the issue with having some photos up that bring back good memories. Though I'm not keen on giant canvasses of wedding photos in living rooms etc as I think it would feel rather odd being surround by large photos of yourself!...See MorePOLL: Single, double or triple glazed?
Comments (55)chanti1, my grandparents used to have massive condensation problems with their double glazing as it was added as an afterthought, it had about a 4 inch gap and was not sealed so they would have to keep cloths in the gap to mop it all up. In my parents house there were a couple of windows prone to this problem between the panes - caused when the seal on the double glazed units failed. Because you can't get to it the result is eventually mould. The units had to be changed which to my mind seems drastic and wasteful. There should be a way of removing, cleaning and resealing units on site. Of course condensation happens with single glazing all the time. Where I live now we get condensation on the outside of the window at night. Air conditioning indoors and extreme humidity outside with night time temperatures still in the high twenties centigrade does that....See MorePOLL: Pick your favourite staircase!
Comments (61)The floating staircases are called "cantilever" staircases, they generally require a structural wall because they are steel plates bolted to the wall and clad in whichever timber you like and most popular balustrade would be glass, so they will not suit all house types, the split level staircase, with the landings are easier to produce and can fit in most house types and are still very contemporary, I am also a fan or the curved staircases because I understand the work involved but i would suggest the curved staircase would be more suited to a traditional house type....See MoreHelen c
