Does anyone know whether these vintage radiators are worth anything?
Comments (5)They do cast iron, vintage radiator refurbishment only , you probably have flat panel radiators which is made out of steel , as advised , you could do it your self, sand down the old paint down to the steel ,then use primer then your colour of choice, ideally your should spray the paint on, (invest in a wagner paint sprayer set, they are worth ever penny you've spent on it)...See MoreDulux vs Farrow & Ball - is it really worth the extra money?
Comments (13)Lots of people now using Farrow & Ball colours mixed in Leyland SDM, as is cost effective. And to be honest in most cases people have to repaint walls now quiet often as matt finish is not durable at all. Farrow & Ball in many cases have to be painted 3 coats or used with Farrow & Ball undercoat, and after few months when you will do touch up on them is visible under light. From expensive paint companies " Paint and Paper Library " is quiet nice choice. In price of FB and Little Greene...See More1m Side Extension - is it worth it ???
Comments (23)We have recently completed a similar project. I am extremely happy with the result, but my advice would be to think about what is your aim. Are you looking to add value to your house to improve the resell value or improve what you have with your budget? Our layout was very similar to yours and we kept a narrow access down the side for bins, bikes etc (90 cm). We were not permitted to build a double height side extension so we only looked at options for single height. The end result is amazing, but involved extensive steel work and complicated construction. It is far more costly than simply knocking down an internal wall to make an open plan living space. If you get as far as employing an architect, I would stress the importance of discussing budget constraints....See MoreIs Farrow & Ball Dark Tones primer worth it?
Comments (4)I would check if it can be matched, some match to the nearest colour which is often quite different. I think the idea of primer is due to their paints being very chalky and potentially not adhering to other paints. I also think its a way of covering themselves. I would look at Little Greene or Paint and Paper Library, both made by the same company, both slightly better than Farrow and Ball. I've painted dark walls in F&B and it's sometimes taken 4 coats, never more than one with the others....See MoreSonia
