Help to change bulbs in Atelier Carmella pendant light

We purchased this pendant light from BHS a few years ago. It was professionally fitted by an electrician. And although he showed us how to access the bulbs, we have forgotten and can't figure it out :-(
Can anyone shed some light on how to change the bulbs? We remember something about the outer glass perhaps moving up the cord? And something about a spring clip? Doesn't help that it's located at the top of the stairwell so I'll be standing on the top of the step ladder!
