En-Suite sizing/layout help
Comments (78)Just thought I would update my post as the en suite is *almost finished. Only take 6 months (rolls eyes) and still a bit of cladding above the WC to finish and on the sink unit (same walnut cladding on the front) and of course I have to have a shower screen designed as it won’t take a standard shower door. Such fun. Will take some other angle pics over the weekend once it’s all tidied up and cleaned. Just struggling now with storage!! Only got a shallow space under the sink (25cm deep- 26cm at most) to put some drawers but I can’t find any. Got space on the wc side for a little bench seat with storage under so trying to work out the best colour/style that’s not too twee....See MoreIdeas on where to move our downstairs loo so we can be more open plan
Comments (48)Having suggesting taking down the wall around your living room door, I’ve just noticed your lovely wood flooring which woudl get messed up by that - unless you can get spare planks? If you don’t want to mess with the floor then you could consider inserting an internal window next to the door, where you currently have the square white mirror and cabinet. You could also replace the sitting room door with a glazed door. Another couple of ideas to help make your living room feel more spacious - without making the actual room bigger: 1) I wonder if there is storage taking up space in your living room? For example the cabinets each side of the TV? If so then if you re jig the loo into a small loo and a small storage room, you can move some storage there and free up sitting room space. 2). I notice you have a big dining table in the sitting room - is this used much, seeing as the kitchen is big enough for a table? If not, then removing it or replacing with a small extending table would free up space....See MoreExtend / knock through / do nothing?!
Comments (20)@rinked wow I’m embarrassed by my napkin drawing now 😂 I really like this with the kitchen on the other side, but think I might have a hard time getting the removal of the fireplace AND the curved bay window past my OH! Its great to see an option we hadn’t considered tho and how we could make the space work without extending. I think he’ll see this as trading the extra living room for the utility tho as where you have the downstairs loo and utility is where we have the dining table now. I guess only way to squeeze in those extras while not losing the living room may be to extend...See MoreHELP- I’ve made my new bathroom look dated. what can I do?
Comments (60)If space is your priority, perhaps the second toilet would be better? What brand is it, btw? I will eventually be redoing a bathroom (had planned to do it this year, but gas price rises have made me decide to install a wood burner instead). Really like the shape of this second toilet and it looks like it would be so easy to clean....See Morearc3d
