How to pair a navy sofa and a pewter sofa in the same room
I have a 4 seater sofa in Pewter and have just bought a 2 seater navy sofa as pictured in the photo. How can I style them so they complement each other and not look like they belong in different rooms? I have the pewter sofa already and inserted an image of the navy sofa (As it hasn't arrived yet). See photo of the room below. What do you think will help blend them? I'm thinking some cushions. Maybe change the rug? Lost for ideas..

Comments (4)I would 100% start with the floor. All colours interact with each other and can appear different in different lights. I would choose the flooring you are going to have and then proceed from there. For example the tone (how light or dark the floor is) of the floor partly determines the tone of the walls. The colour of the floor is really important - the oak in the image could look quite violety. A large sample of flooring as a starting point would be a good idea. Little Greene have a fantastic range of 'greys' and some stunning blues, you could colour match them with Valspar paint. 3 years agoOr try a different accent colour for cushions on both sofas - coral, orange, pink, lime green. I’d also try positioning them face to face with a large glass table in the middle

3 years agoI think you could go various ways. I like the rug, can it go under the sofa feet? (Hard to tell how wide it is from the photo). The art seems a bit small, it often works better if it's hung just a few inches over the sofa to connect with it. I'm not sure if this art is big enough though as 4 seater sofa sizes vary. I'd probably repeat the brass for a coffee table or floor lamp and then I've picked up colours in the art for cushions but maybe vary the texture with linen etc rather than just all velvet. I think it will look great once furnished and accessorised 😊

3 years ago. An alternative thought I had is to leave the furniture as it currently is with 2 mid century armchairs (see photo 1). Then put the blue sofa in the space behind with a grey velvet ottoman in front of it (see photo 2).would that be better. Gonna get a rug for that area as well

3 years agoIt's hard to tell the amount of space available but it looks to be by the front door and a kind of walk through area? I might be tempted to add a sideboard, you could then add a chair and plant either side with a lamp etc on top
