Crittal Style Aluminium sliding or folding doors
Comments (186)Fiona - I’ve been looking into replacing some doors with Crittal style and have contacted loads of suppliers and companies. The one that I’ve been most impressed with is the company mentioned above by Lou Valdini - Merlin Windows in Yorkshire. (I’m in the East Midlands). They gave me a competitive quote really quickly and then I got a quote from the fitter mentioned. (They fit across the UK and they link in with Merlin to ensure timings etc). It’s likely that we will go ahead in the next few months. (Just need to convince husband as he prefers chunky timber 😂)...See MoreBath screen next to basin!
Comments (8)Hi Chris, that's what we are thinking to go with at the moment. There's one from Kudos which seems to fit the bill and we like the look of it too. Just a bit expensive though... http://www.ukbathrooms.com/products/kudos-duo-2-panel-bath-screen.html?gclid=CjsKDwjw0cXIBRCxjqnE3K3sHhIkAL1LezRXB7bvlK8KVaciTdbzxE8I8YJihkm9NIZ7VdneduVUGgJX8fD_BwE...See Morehelp to decide on bath type please
Comments (14)We re-did our family bathroom last year and have a shower over the bath with a glass screen. We went for quite a simple square ish design of bath - so it gives plenty of room for showering. My only top tip - go for a simple bath screen with the least amount of fittings / hinges and slidey bits because they’re all a pain to clean!!! Our old (and expensive) screen was a sliding one and we could never get to certain bits of it, and within a year or so it looked dreadful. The new one was much cheaper and is a simple screen that folds both in and out. It also has one long hinge / wall attachment - so it’s really easy to clean. A year in and it still looks like new! The other thing we did was to have all the shower fittings concealed in the wall - again makes cleaning easier. And we also ditched the taps and went for a bath filler that is controlled by the shower fitting. Again - we chose everything with a view to be easy to clean!!...See MoreAny regrets getting big big-folds / sliding doors
Comments (21)Problem with bifolds (Vs sliders or just a pair of doors) is the amount the opening is blocked when the bifolds are open. Most of the time you will only be opening one door for entry/exit. This is why we went for French doors made from a bifold door frame - to minimise the frame thickness when open. You also lose a wall which could/would otherwise have furniture against it. So it's worth asking whether you want a wall of bifold or actually want a wall of glass. In which case you could achieve it by (say) part being a door of your choice, and part being stub wall with glass above and (for example) window seat. Also, control the airflow from the room which has the glass doors and the rest of the house. This helps stop it being to breezy when you have the doors fully open. Not cold in winter - but they are triple glazed and the rest of the room is highly insulated. Picture shows the view with our doors open Wall of glass? Yes. Large removable section of glass? Yes. Bifolds? Not necessarily....See MoreHU-709396164
