Wood Floor colour to go with 'Dulux Natural hessian' colour walls?
Comments (2)Hello Precious! I used Natural Hessian as the base colour all over my previous house. I had the standard new build light beige carpet throughout so a light coloured wood would work well. I personally think the grey wood wouldn't work well with it. As for accents, I used a bright duck egg blue in the bedroom, a pea green in the living room and used dulux cookie dough as a natural compliment in the hallway and landing. If you have any paint left, a good trick is to paint an a3 piece of paper and take it shopping with you. Test your favourite colours and floorings against it. A small colour swatch is pretty useless for doing this. Don't be shy to ask for samples to take home and try in situ. I found Natural Hessian didn't half change coulur in different lights and different rooms. Have fun and good luck....See MoreSOS : Which type floor and what colour would you recommend?
Comments (7)Hi there! A grey and white colour scheme sounds quite Scandinavian to me. If there are floorboards, you could paint those white (or leave them in their natural colour) to achieve the kind of pared back look in the photo you've attached....See MoreI'm having a new kitchen what colour range cooker?
Comments (5)If the range is an Aga/Rayburn/Esse type then I would go for cream, it’s a timeless colour and will fit in with many types of kitchen cabinets, they are expensive, heavy and will take some shifting if you decide to change it in the future. A stronger colour that is fashionable will date. If the range cooker is just a bigger cooker then stick with stainless steel....See MoreWhat colour floor to go with this kitchen, please help?!
Comments (19)Thanks all for your help, we haven't got underfloor heating and I have two very messy boys especially with water so I think engineered wood is out and so are real tiles as they would be so cold. Its a north facing room so I'm very aware I need to warm the look of the room up as the grey and the white walls are looking very stark now. Karndean, amtico and poyflor are the companies i'll look at then. Has anyone used polyflor? They seem much cheaper than the other two companies? And oneplan would grey flooring look weird against the grey wood Worktop? Bit too matchy? I'd like to go a bit more modern Scandi kitchen. Unfortunately my husband likes country style hence the kitchen handles and look we chose. But now I want to warm it up a bit and give it a more Scandi look?! Thanks for your help...See Morei_ghataurhae
