How to fill this area of my garden?
I desperately want to change this space of my garden into something that is actually nice to look at. At the moment it's a bit of a du oing ground, but once it is cleared I'm hoping to utilise it.
But what can I do with it? I it in a constantly shaded spot so I don't think it's great for planting and it's not really somewhere we would sit either... maybe some sort of feature?

3 years agolast modified: 3 years agoYes I agree with Carolina, there are loads of plants that need a shady spot. Japanese Maples need shade and grow well in pots, so do Cornus kousa tree and bamboo as well as Ferns. I would create a shady nook as Carolina suggests, so some shrubs and smaller perennials surrounding a water feature maybe? Primrose an online shop sells loads. They usually come complete with a pump with a very long lead. I love that mirror and am looking for a spot in my garden to put one in! Here’s some ideas

Comments (6)You've got a great spaced garden. I think you should pull the patio out evenly around the house and decide how much grassy area you want vs patio area. You have a lovely house that looks like light would spill out nicely to a patio in the evenings. Comments (2)Hmm, it looks good looking towards the house but from the house its a path leading to nowhere really. You could do with something to screen or enliven the sheds at the end. I'd recommend taking the path our and putting two small ones in about a 1/4 way in from the edges to boarder the lawn, the use the other 1/4s for smaller garden rooms with maybe some raised beds in the patio. I have an interest in this sort of thing so if you need some help laying out the structure or visualising it I can help there. Comments (5)My vote is planting. You could make a feature out of the areas that have been bricked up. One appears to have been a door, so finding some old doors , with oldfashioned hinges, on their last legs and placing them under the remaining track to give the illusion of 'some where else'. Further down is a window that has feature brickwork - return it to being a window with a mirror.
