Lamp / side table suggestions please

Hello!

You lovely people recently helped me with another room and I was really pleased with everyone’s suggestions... I have ordered some new bits so will update with those when they arrive.

I was wondering if I may have some help with suggestions for some side tables for my living room. We are currently doing it up, it’ll have new carpet (I’m guessing grey and a white marble fireplace). Here are some pics of all the stuff I have either already bought or have ordered or am going to order.
My husband and I have very different styles, I love the delicate, traditional, ornate vibe and he loves contemporary and modern. So we are trying to fuse a little of the two if that’s even possible... I hope these bits I’ve ordered all work together (there’s a slight mix of different woods and metals but hoping it’s not a disaster, I have no idea what I’m doing!). It’s all very grey and my husband fell in love with a teal chair so the chair has now become the accent colour choice.. hence all the other bits.
I’ve added more pics in the 2nd comment as it would only let me upload 4.

Anywho, I digress... we simply can’t find a lamp table / side table to work. I feel a bit over whelmed with all the different woods and styles. I’d really appreciate your input (it would go between the teal button back chair and a grey chesterfield sofa.

I wouldn’t bother with Laura Ashley. They are in administration and I had ordered a footstool which never arrived. Luckily I paid via PayPal and got my money back. Shame because I love that shop! Can I suggest you share a picture of your room and furniture as it is?

Monica Gale 20:28 Prav I think the reason for that is that its all you are looking at right now. You need some height on those tables and a few other things, then it could all fall into place. My only thought regarding the tables being orange is longevity. If you keep them fairly neutral you can change the colour in the future a lot easier. Here's a poor shot of my living room. That dark cabinet grounds the space beautifully. It works really well to have bit of black in every scheme. Try it first then if you still do not like it then I guess you could paint them.

Thanks everyone, this is so helpful!!! Dundrum that made me chuckle. I will stick to my guns but sadly the retailers have an aversion to pistachio. Went round huge Next home store today, tonnes of curtain fabric options in all colours except pistachio!!! Grrrr! Thank you again Man about House, I will persevere and I covet your curtains!!! I think I may well get the original rug you found! Thanks Laura will also look at French Connection, who would have thought! The parquet floors are from 1962 and I am chuffed to bits how they have come up, waited 3.5 years to do them! Angie and celery girl, very good points re rug size, my last Ikea one was definitely in the "not this" category!! Thanks also for the image celerygirl, I like the poufs very much but the trouble is the room is Lshaped and the walkway goes past them Any views on the coffee table dilemma everyone? As for brown sofa wish could replace asap. Would you believe someone gave me a beautiful South African wood sideboard and I kept it for a few years until eBaying it for a pittance! I even tried it in the space, see pic, yikes, I thought it was too dominant but maybe not....!

Thank you - argh that’s not good... I’ve already ordered the lamp and very large rug in the pics.. why are they still taking orders, will cross my fingers they come!
Here’s pics of the lounge from a few weeks ago - the oak display cabinet and tv unit have since been replaced with the dark French style furniture. We are still waiting for the teal chair to be delivered so ignore the dark leather one. The dark leather ottoman has since been replaced with the grey bench. The side table there in the pics has since gone. And we will replace the floor and the new fireplace will go in as soon as lock down has lifted... can get more pics in the morning if that’s more helpful.

Its such a minefield out there looking for sidetables. I have recently moved and tried all the usual places to buy a side table but i wanted something a little different. I discovered www.simplysidetables.com which has some great options. I like the fact you can simplify by colour, shape etc. Definetly worth checking them out. I hope that helps.
