F&B purbeck stone vs Dulux
I want to paint the walls of a northwest facing bathroom in light grey.
Hi,
Any one knows if the F&B purbeck stone has a grey or cream tone? When I look at some pictures online sometimes it looks light grey, sometime light cream.
I was also looking at the Dulux brand and the only options for bathroom seems to be polished pebble and chic shadow, but some reviews says the colors are not grey but lilac or baby blue...Any advice?

Comments (6)I think I would go with the purbeck stone. I have elephants breath but it can be warm in South facing rooms and as your flooring is really warm I'd go for a contrast. I wouldn't go for the Hardwick for the same reason. Maybe get testers of both though to see how it works? Comments (12)Hi, I agree with Nancy a white wooden bed would be great in your bedroom especially as you have painted your door white and your skirting is white also, or alternatively a darker grey fabric headboard would also be stunning with white bedding.. Wall colour is a very personal choice but i would recommend a light grey by The little Greene company No. 224 (INOX) i think it would work well with your existing patten and will not be to over powering in the room. Comments (28)Katie I think purbeck and skimming stone look ok next to each other, I have a hallway in skimming stone and a room off the hall in purbeck but I probably wouldn’t put them in the same room together. To my eye they have a different undertone. If ammonite is too blue maybe try strong white? Or paint the walls the same colour as the alcoves....See More

3 years agoMore beige/taupe than grey to my eye. It is a beautiful colour and my sister has it in her hall but it isn’t really grey. My cousin has Chic Shadow in his home and it’s lovely, a proper grey. Polished Pebble is a paler version. Paint colour is greatly affected by light, and wall colours can change colour throughout the day. The world is not static and neither is colour. I think you need tester pots before committing!

3 years agoThis is Purbeck Stone in my north facing en-suite. The paint is Johnstone’s colour matched to F&B. I find it a warm grey, we have it in two bathrooms, two bedrooms and kitchen diner. Woodwork is Shadow White and ceilings are Pointing as I didn’t want the contrast of brilliant white. Hope this helps!
