need help with accessories for living room

Iv got hague blue on one wall and cornforth white on the rest. Iv bought a number of rugs but they have never looked right. Didn’t no if I could introduce any more colours / coffee tables etc to make the room.

Lovely room. I think a nice big square coffee table would look great so you won’t need a rug. Or a lovely square padded footstool which can act as both a coffee table and somewhere to rest tired legs!

Hello Claudia, Speaking from an art on walls point of view, I'm loving the challenge, so I present a few choice pieces for the wall above your two armchairs that I think will be a happy compliment to your existing decor and furnishings: As regards the picture above your piano, the colours work well with your room but you don't like the subject, right? If that's the case, this consideration will have to be a decision based on what subject(s) you really like or are quite sentimental to, as opposed to colour matching an art piece just to fit in with the rest of the room. If you do play the piano, musicians are very sentimental people, so you want something above the piano that you can "feel and connect to" when you're sitting there playing. It has to be sentimental to you, irrespective of what it is and what colour it may be, and not to consider it as part of the rooms overall decor. Hi Claire, You have a lovely space to work with and it’s great to hear that you’re up for doing a bit of DIY! In regards to the coffee table, go for it! It’s a lovely design and will complement the characteristics of the room perfectly. I’d dress the table with a gorgeous green plant - not only will this add vibrant colour, but also adds life to your space and is guaranteed to make you smile. As suggested by Minnie, a floor standing plant situated underneath your fitted wall shelves will add a feature to this corner of your room. If you fancy doing a little bit of painting, why not head to your nearest charity shop and find a sweet side table to place to the left of your sofa or either side of your armchair? Choose your favourite Dulux paint colour (in a Satinwood finish) and paint your table to add a personalised touch to your space! This will create such a lovely statement as you enter the room, especially if you choose a beautiful blue to create that coastal look. I think I would try tweaking the layout slightly. Try the sofa flat in the middle of that wall and paint the radiator in the wall colour. Angle one chair in the corner of the room facing the sofa, move the other along and put the smaller table under the other with the lamp on (Art would need to move slightly). I think a tall plant always adds life to a room (other side of sofa to what's shown). I'm not sure if I'm right in saying you don't like the wallpaper? If you don't you could look at Cole and son cow parsley, it comes in a warmish grey Which might be worth trying. If you like that one can look for cushions and a rug to complement. Would you consider a coffee table or larger footstool for the room? Something round could work. Is the inside of the fire just plastered?
