Restoring sculpture furniture
Hi, I need to restore this piece of furniture to fit a more modern style room and also to fix some wood discoloration. I am considering to paint it white but not sure if the frescas will ever look good since the dark shadows will dissapear? Any ideas on what else can I do with it? Removing the legs and replacing with some more modern ones? Thank you. Bob

Comments (9)Oh dear yes I know - actually I got this furniture about 7 years ago, big table 2 benches and two chairs for £200 which I sort of gulped at then but it has lasted really well and it's lovely to change the colour. Have you looked on eBay cos you may be able to pick up things singly like a lovely table and then random garden chairs. Comments (10)Hi there, You have a really great room and some modern wall art is definitely the way to go to finish it up, We have lots of large canvases available on Hutsly (http://www.hutsly.com/collections/wall-art/material_canvas) including some in the colours you were after but I would have to agree with the comment above about using different colours to give a bit of life and colour to your space, maybe something like this: Available here. They could work for both the wall behind your sofa and the one behind your TV and for example the first and last one are in a similar theme so they would go well together. thank you for your replies. I don't know how old the piece is, I just know that it has been proposed for being removed/trashed and I just want to save it. It is beautiful on the inside as well with many drawers and shelves. I am attaching a picture with the part that is affected by sun (?). I suspect it's made of solid wood and veneer on top. Really not sure what to use in order not to damage it more. Thanks to you, I am not going to paint it!
