How should I lay out my 'interesting' London flat? - Advice needed
Comments (4)Hi. I would do something like the attached which isn't particularly to scale but existing bed 2 has been reduced to 10x10. I'd only make the bathroom a bit bigger unless you want to widen it by taking a little from the new Master bedroom. Move the bath down 20-30cm and have shelves built in floor to ceiling for storage. If you wanted you could have pocket doors from the lounge through to the office (with sofa bed) so you can open the whole lot up for entertaining etc. if you do that just think about resale ie accessing bedroom from lounge unless you do convert the loft so it won't end up being a bedroom. I'd buy a unit to house the tv and books. Maybe think about a dining table that can double up as prep area. In any case I'd get one with a bench seat that slides under on the kitchen side to save space. I'm not a pro though so just my thoughts!...See MoreAdvice on Living Room Lay-out
Comments (10)You able to post other walls in the room to get better idea of room layout ? The tv istoo big for narrow chimney breast and will look odd. Don’t take this wrong way but the shelves you had done look too thin seems like the bowing a bit due to amount of things on them carepenter should have made them alot more chunky to give it that modern look or put a thick trim on front of each shelf to give it that illusion also would work nice with the cabinets below you have . I would put a fake fireplace. With nice round mirror and if possible move the tv to one of the other walls in the room colour wise I either paint all walls pure white or nice soft grey like cloud burst By crown or dulux or elephants breath. white personally will just lighten up the whole room giving it contemporary look. White is very underrated but has a whole lot of colour spectrum with in it creating different shades with room light...See MoreHelp with Ground Floor Configuration

Comments (18)Hi Hayley, first of all fingers crossed this becomes your home, it's lovely!! So for the door you have a couple ofnoptions: 1) remove the wall to the left of the front door, move the front door to the left as you suggested, and hang the door so it opens the same way as now if it makes sense? So you can see the open space to your right as you go in, rather than having to shut the door to see it (check if you need any special permissions to move the door). The area to the right of the front door would then be ample enough to hang coats, put a console table for keys etc. 2) leave the front door where it is and knock that wall to its left for better flow. I would also swap the dining room and sitting room and knock the wall between the kitchen and current sitting room (suggested future dining room) and have that as a big kitchen/ diner. If you want to go one step further you can also knock the wall between lounge and current sitting room (as shown in the floor plan). Again, as with any wall knocking, check with local council that you are OK to do that first in case they are load bearing walls or if there s anything else relevant that you need to be aware of or any licenses you need to obtain. Let me know if you need anything else. Good luck!...See MoreAng Lee Projects
