curtain pole help

Hello, we are wanting eyelet curtains around the house but have one problematic window that is right against a wall. How best to put a curtain up here when the curtain pole cannot overhang the side of the window?

I think that particular window is too small for curtains and would behest with a Roman blind

A blind would be a better option. Either Roman blinds, roller blinds or slatted wooden blinds, depending on your taste in decor.

I have a Georgian property with box windows and lovely shutters. I want to hang curtains to keep the warmth in as the windows run floor to ceiling. My problem is that the walls are so old that Im hesitant to drill pole arms to them and would prefer to hang them off the box but have not seen pole arms that do this! Any ideas??

I would definitely go for a bigger diameter for strength with appropriate brackets. Perhaps even a 51mm pole would be better.

I’m not sure what the part I need is called. Here are some pics from my living room curtain pole. There is a plastic section that connects the two poles and stops them moving around. It also ensures there is no gap between the poles. I am pretty sure I can’t place this part in the middle bracket as the pole would be too small. If it helps these are extendable poles.

Thank you both! It was actually a really simple solution, my brain just couldn’t fathom at first. 😅 The wall brackets themselves were lose, so they were sagging and putting pressure on the bracket and the screw, so no matter how much i turned the screw it made no difference. 🤦‍♀️ I finally twigged though, and after tightening the bracket, i now have a fresh pair of curtains up! Hoorah.

Put the pole on the outside of the recess keeping the end up against the wall without a finial.
