Need help with my hall
Comments (19)my entrance hall is way smaller than yours, with similar stairs, white banister and natural oak console and mirror. For years on end each time we've redecorated it has been where we 've experimented with really bold colour choices for walls and carpets, some arguably less successful than others. Last year was the first time we tried yellow - none of us really likes the colour but we were running out of ideas. We used Dulux's Sunny Day throughout, freshened banister and skirting with really bright white and picked a bold striped carpet for the stairs. It's been the best combination so far, and has looked even larger and brighter after we incorporated some small golden accessories on the wall and console. I cannot reccomend it strongly enough. Funniest thing is whoever visits and praises it always starts with 'I don't really like yellow but.... this yellow looks amazing or this yellow is sort of different ... Do buy a tester and give it a try. Use natural materials where you can and add a little gold here and there. Our hall has never looked so large, bright, warm and welcoming, and it doesn't look like we'll be experimenting again soon. Unless you live in an extremely hot part of the world, I cannot think of anything better. All the best, maria...See MoreEntrance Hallway dilemma. n
Comments (32)Hopefully will only send this once, don't know what happened before - I like the ink blue option keeping my original sofa option with the purple cushion the best I think, and the rug idea is great, will need to find a large one, I moved the purple chair to the position that you said, but my husband didn't like it there and said people would bash their head on the stairs ! so I moved it back :) n...See MoreI need ideas for the living room and entrance hall
Comments (4)Wow, what a big space! What is great here is that you have lots of room to play with. It really depends on what style you are going for. However here are some ideas! For the entrance way, a lovely console table would be a wonderful addition against the opposite wall to the door. Something reflective to help keep the place looking bright! This could be decorated with some accents like some bright flowers that really pop against the neutral wall. Maybe a little tray to put your keys and purse in as well! Can't see the space behind the door however maybe a statement coat hanger? Or it could even be placed in the left corner, near the double doors. For the living room space, I would keep the white chesterfield sofa and build around that. A white gloss coffee table would be great as it would reflect the light helping to keep the room bright and light, and easy to clean! https://omnari.com/shop/furniture/tables/coffee-tables/white-gloss-coffee-tables/ A wall mounted TV would look amazing against the marble wall, however if you prefer - maybe some art? For this I would pick out some statement art that incorporates hints of the general colour scheme. Also, a cabinet for storage! Hope this helps you and good luck with your design adventure!...See MoreI need help for T Shaped Living room+ Dining room layout
Comments (4)Hi Yasemin, I have added a very basic templated 3D model to give you the gist of how I’d lay out the space. Please take no notice of the styling, the templates are just what I had to hand on the computer. So I would use bench seating along the back wall for your dining table seating. This would allow you to push the table back further than you can with conventional chairs and thus keep traffic flow unrestricted through the space. There are a wide range of benches available these days from basic and beautiful wooden constructions (just add cushions if you wish), to sumptuous fully upholstered luxury pieces. There is also room for a sideboard for your tableware, you could create a beautiful sightline out of this by adorning it with table lamps and/or decorative accessories. Some wall art would be great here too. I wasn’t sure what the space was at the other end of the room (with glazed door), is this your main entrance? If it is you will need an outerwear storage facility of some sort. If its not a main traffic route then it could be a lovely space for a desk and study area. Good luck with your new apartment.
