Can anyone give me some ideas on how to make this bathroom more modern? I don't mind taking the bath out as don't use. I was thinking could you add a section where I can do my hair like a mini table?

it's a lovely big bathroom. I would streamline the bathroom and the shower and depending on the space on the right, I would add double vanity but with one sink, so the other half works as makeup area. do you have a plan or measurments of the room?

Hi Glen, The size and shape of your space is not dissimilar to many we refurbish, and you do have pleant of options. As "bubbles" suggests, Mereway, Trend (and many others) offer ranges of standalone and built in furniture which would be ideal for your needs. Do you have a budget in mind? If so, to have some insight into that would help to advise on how to get most bang for your buck. To give an idea of what I would recommend: - Remove existing suite and radiator. -Remove existing tiling, re-plasterboard and skim -Install a "Square P" (sometimes called L shape) bath of 850 x 1700, wide end at door end of room with new screen and shower. At "window end", box in from end of bath to wall, possibly with an open shelf unit above -replace flooring with either a good quality vinyl, palio-click or tile flooring -at window end of bathroom, install 600 wide vanity unit with rectangular basin on top on the left (next to boxed in section) with a "concealed cistern" and back to wall WC to the right of that, filled to the boxed in section on the right - see image below (sorry it is small and grainy) -fit a mirrored wall storage unit on the right hand wall above a modern, chrome towel rail/warmer Wrt tiling - I would be tempted to only tile in the bath "corner" with a small splashback of tiles behind the run of furniture along the window wall Colours and finish are always very personal, but I would be tempted by walnut and white with quite square fixtures & fittings (taps, showerhead, radiator etc.) to complement the clean lines of the furniture and bathroom. It seems odd to have the loo in the shower, could it not go the other side of the divider? Otherwise the seat will be wet after anyone uses the shower.

I’d go with option two and a ceiling mounted shower head. They can be so much bigger than wall mounted, you can get a real rain shower effect which is very soothing. But definitely a shower screen, we are currently awaiting ours in various bathrooms and despite large shower sizes, the water does get everywhere.
