What's your preference, a printed kitchen brochure or digital brochure

Inspiration for a new kitchen is accessible at the click of a button with images, ideas and advice available instantly online. This has become even more important during the pandemic and the need to view content virtually. As we start to come out of lockdown, will more people take a break from their screens and request printed kitchen brochures and purchase magazines for inspiration or will they resume their online habits? Let's discuss.

Printed brochures can be laid out on a table and sorted by preference. One can write on them. Tear out the page/photo that is the most important rather than having all pages/photos visible at all times.

Digital is not going to go away. It might be good to offer printed brochures, but not have them be the main way one attracts business.

I have always bought wrecks - I love renovating: and I completely agree with overpaying for a new renovation that is rubbish and soulless: I won't even view a house that has obviously been done up by one of the many "property developers" that infest London. I can cope with anything (have rectified asbestos, removed wood chip, put back period features and replaced everything from roof to digging up a floor to install underfloor heating in the past), but my absolute nos: dodgy neighbours/road, lack of off-street parking (London), a floor plan I can do nothing with, lack of potential to add value myself. I have seen (and met) some real horrors whilst looking for houses! Also, I have to have a period house: 1930s or older.

Depending on how far you budget goes, I would look at adding traditional cornice and pelmet and replacing the plinth with a similar oyster colour. End panels for wall units could also be replaced / added. Some chessboard style tilling in 3 colours would also bring out the walls. It's hard to tell but is the oak surround also on the wall units? I haven't checked your location but this is something we can help with

Hi ! Just looking at your plans briefly - it’s clear that due to cabinetry on all four walls - you won’t get a very big table in there ! You mentioned no wall units due to having enough storage elsewhere - but - if you had wall cabinets storage and storage to the patio doors on the top wall - you could take off some perimeter cabinets to give room for a table that’s larger than ‘just’ a four seater one ? There’s a lot more that could be done with this space in my professional opinion. Re colours - in a north facing room if you chose ‘winter’ colours you will need to warm it up a tad with woods and other tricks like tactile accessories. Scandi style for example uses whites and pale greys warmed up with pale woods and real or faux animal fur on benches or seats to add warmth ... Alternatively brilliant white cabinetry on pale Egyptian Cotton walls can look great too and is warmer than most grey toned paint . re lighting - if this drawings is true and it’s a flat extension then lighting could be LEDs in ceiling throughout - but if the new part is a vaulted ceiling then cable lighting might work or stronger LEDs higher up could also work but there will be a shadow line where the change in height happens. ... To summarise, this is ok - could be better and if worked on by someone with more of a ‘design driven’ background - time could be spent trying different colours for you and looking at lighting options and the table would be included in the drawings to show you what space you actually end up with ... you could see what it could look like in a more real image. I use my pc or laptop and use @ and start typing the name exactly (inc capitals and spaces) as I see on my screen and I get a drop down menu of suggestions, tried it on my android phone and its not the same, no drop down menu appeared as i was typing. cheers James

I suspect a lot of people will still want a printed version, but given their (often very high) cost for companies as well as the waste of paper, a lot of which is not recyclable; I would hope people will move towards digital options a little more often.
