Lounge colour paint advice
Comments (4)Hello Mandy, I've had a professional come and suggest a colur scheme for my lounge. The best advice she gave was to focus on how much natural light we got during the day, my lounge faces North, so only get sunght for a few hours per day. I am avoiding cooler shades of paint, initially had intended on teal or slightly lighter. I have settees in virtually the same colour as yours and we chose a Farrow & Ball paint in a colour called Peignoir (a sort of greyish-pink)and then chose accessories in various dark red shades. This makes the room look very warm and welcoming when the light is low. Hope this helps!...See MoreLounge window dressing & colour scheme advice
Comments (7)Hi. Did you manage to look at their curtains? I think pattern for cushions is fine and plain linen curtains would look fab. I'm not sure if I preferred your previous layout (Although it may be the camera angle making the tv the focus!). Have you tried the chair next to the tv with maybe a floor lamp? The wall colour is meant to be something like F&B oval room blue or F&B suggest inchrya blue with your walls. Just thinking it brings the fire more into the focus? You could paint the unit the same colour and just varnish the mantel. If in budget I would consider a glass coffee table (with a shelf for books underneath) to complement your mirror and move your teal jars and flowers on there? I'd hang your art behind the small sofa and maybe a smaller piece for behind the chair. Not sure what you think though?...See Morelounge decor - advice please!!
Comments (3)What a great space and stunning window. It would really help to understand what furniture (colours) you already have to go into this room, or if you are starting afresh with everything. It also depends on the mood you want to create in the space, and the function of the room. Happy to help but I need a bit more info. Comments (19)I still love the dirty yellow colour, do you know what colour it is? The blue is very strong and it brings out the orange in the fireplace in a very contrasting way. Complementary colours exaggerate each other and if both are strong they clash, if one is more muted then they look more balanced. Analogous colour schemes look harmonious as you don't get the strong contrast of opposite colours. Its personal taste. I love the ochre and I would paint it in the alcoves as long as it worked wiht the carpet. Probably not what you wanted to hear......See MoreMarylee H
