Comments (4)I agree with you, the blue they've got in the advert doesn't look so great. It's definitely not cozy either! Maple tends to have both gold and pink tones, and so goes wonderfully well with all shades of orange. How about a pale wood floor with apricot and ivory tones? You have some good ivory colours in your second picture. I would start with choosing a rug you liked, I've uploaded a picture of one I would choose which would go well as a starting point, but there are lots to choose from. That would make a very cozy room and fit beautifully with the furniture....See MoreNeed help on colour scheme for living room
Comments (4)I wouldn't worry about matching up the tiles if you're not keen on having red. I think the scheme will work as long as you stick to neutral, old-school colours, muted greens, blues etc. Just don't go for pastels - that would definitely not work....See MoreNeed help with colour scheme
Comments (8)Dear minnie101 sisal rugs look great. I would need two in my open plan area. One under dining table and one in living room area. What colours do you think I should get? We will be changing sofas soon. Buying a purply, mulberry colour sofa. Also going to eventually add a farrow and ball dark feature wall (worsted 284) and farrow and ball (skimming stone) to other walls. Our kitchen is a taupe colour. I look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards...See Morenew sofas - need help with colour scheme
Comments (29)keep the frieze white, I know that it might be tempting to paint it to go, but as it is likely an original feature, and was originaly white, plaster friezes should just stay white. not briliant white dulux, like an art gallery but a lovely natural white, like shirting from the little greene paint co. UNless you are painting them with golds etc in some palace I fell they always look much better white. and try not to get too much contrast in your paints, look for a pinky greys , lilac shadow from sanderson paints, mirage from the little green paint company , and fig greyt from zoffany are all examples of greys that hit a pinky tone, but GET SAMPLES they are invaluable for the seeing the nuances of shade and sublteties that only the light in your room will pick up. i can send you paint charts if ytou need them karly...See MoreJeff Schneider
