What would you do with this area in the bedroom?

I am designing this room, however my biggest blocker is the bed. due to the size (it's a waterbed anyway so can't be moved or adapted easily) it can't fit anywhere else in the room. Would anyone have any ideas how to make this part of the room look more homely and in proportion. I do have some cream traditional bedside lamps to add and obviously bedding and cushions etc for the bed. It is a large room, it has a walk in wardrobe and also open eaves space on the opposite side, as well as an ensuite off it so I'd like it to stay simple, traditional and homely. The colour theme is mainly white and cream, with some dark velvet cushions, wooden furniture and leather sofa. Appreciate any thoughts :)
