Help with living room furniture layout please
Comments (8)2 other options. Have 3 x 2 seater sofas. 2 matching ones opposite each other and a contrasting one opposite the fireplace. A slim console table with lamps, objets etc may look nice behind the sofa so you don't have a view of a back of a sofa from the dining room. Or have 2 x 2 seaters opposite each with 2 armchairs either side of the fireplace facing the dining room. Do you also need to consider where a tv would be positioned?...See MoreSofa(s) and or chairs Layout in Rectangulat living room
Comments (7)Hi, yes you would be looking at 2 small sofas if you had them facing each other. So the options you could have:- 1) Corner sofa with the L section being on the door side (presuming you want to keep your TV where it is) and the longest part away from the wall so there is a space to walk behind it. 2) keep the long sofa where it is and bring the smaller one around so it faces away from the windows (entrance door behind it). This will only work if there is space to leave a gap to walk through. 3) leave the sofa where it is (or bring it forward depending on how much width you have in the room? And put 2 x single chairs opposit each other in the same place it was suggested to have 2 x sofas. So it would be a C shape....See MoreHelp with living dining room layout please!
Comments (14)Ok it seems I got cut off due to the smiley face I put! Grr.. Basically what I was saying is that we were thinking about farmhouse/cottage style table (small but extending), but I'm worried that it may be too much.. Also we rushed and bought retro industrial type of lampshades (same for both areas), and also our floor isn't wood colour, but it's white/grey kind of washed wood, so I'm afraid the whole look wouldn't look so good with the white floor! What do I do?? Also my hubby didn't like it as much as I did...and I was so hopeful that we finally got a perfect middle.. Anyway, if I swap something for something maybe that would help..? All I want is a nice and cosy, elegant and sophisticated but also comfy and relaxing home..what a headache :) But thank you so so much for every single idea, this really helps to think!!! Thank you!x...See Moreliving room layout - please help!
Comments (11)I like this one with the symmetry with the fire. I might swap the loveseat for the armchair to give more space for a lamp and side table. I would also swap the chair in the bottom right for a smaller chair so there’s more space to get in the room. I think a footstool on legs in the sofa colour won’t visually fill the room. i’d probably also put the shelves in the alcoves (I guess those pictured are about the same width as yours) I dont know if that will seat everyone on a daily basis though! I love the cut outs, you can also use masking tape on the floor so you can walk around everything to get a proper feel...See MoreLaura
