Comments (25)The lack of bench space, and I'm not sure which category of the poll that fits into. Layout maybe, since we'll need to move things around to make it work. Our kitchen is enormous, but it's all storage - one whole wall is floor to ceiling pantry-style cabinets. On the other all the stovetop and the sink take up a full half of the bench top, so there is just enough room for one chopping board and bowl on what's left when you are cooking. The crazy thing is, it's not even a tiny galley kitchen, but the space in between the two walls is only just big enough to squeeze an island in, so we are trying to decide between being cramped, or knocking down walls and completely remodelling. Can't quite bring ourselves to pull the trigger on the latter, though, as all the cabinets and cupboard are in great shape....See MoreWhat is your most difficult aspect in choosing colour for your home?
Comments (7)Hi. in terms of interiors I would guess people would like to understand how to identify and mix undertones, what colours to use depending on the light in the room, what proportion of colours to use in a room and how to make the house flow etc. On the flip side if you opt for neutrals how do you get a scheme to work. I'm sure I'm not alone in that the colours I wear are definitely not the colours I would use in my home so although clothes are based on what would complement your eyes, skin tone, hair colour, figure etc how does that translate into interiors (although there is a proportion of black in both :) )...See MoreWhich room in your home have you spent the most money on?
Comments (10)Totally agree, Christopher Brummit. I persuaded a friend that the place for her kitchen was not in the one room overlooking the garden - which is where it was when she bought the house - but in the middle with the dining room at the front (with a fireplace) and the sitting room at the back with a gorgeous view. I also think it's worth thinking about the dining room's location. In my 1927 house, it's meant to be at the back which means it overlooks the garden. Meanwhile, the sitting room overlooks the road. I swapped and couldn't be happier especially as the room at the back is much bigger. Shake it up is what I do!...See MoreRoom4 Interiors Ltd
