Would Sash Windows suit our new house?
Comments (8)Hi, Sash windows are also one of my favourites, however they will not suit the property you have. Unfortunately it will be quite out of place as the period of your house will not suit them. You have to always consider the house style and what would look best - you could end up spending a lot of money and it just not doing your home any justice. Think of a mid-century sort of styling, look at Crittall windows if you want something with a period feel. If you were wanting to give the house a boost you could look at a slim line dark frame to the windows, which would emphasis the render work and also the colour of the bricks....See MoreWhole house transformation in London
Comments (0)When the homeowner of this London property came to Anglian for home improvements, he went big - new French doors set in a bay-like window, plus new windows across the board, all in triple glazing to keep sound out and heat in. To maintain his home's existing look, he opted for sleek white uPVC that brightens up his home's exterior. We think he did a pretty good job of keeping in with his home's original charm while still giving it a modern refresh. What do you think? Comments (3)I was in the same boat. broke it down into chunks. Got quotes. Created a budget. I save for each chunk and get it done, then start saving for the next. It does mean living in an unfinished house for a looong time but also gives me loads of time to have ideas and make decisions, which I like. FYI I started with a full rewire. Then downstairs plumbing, then structural work to kitchen, then new windows, then repairs to floors upstairs, then structural work to chimney. Still lots to do and it's cost far more than I ever imagined but it isn't as stressful as I imagined either....See MoreWhat colour windows for my 1970's red brick house
Comments (5)I think anthracite grey will be absolutely perfect. It will match the roof tiles. I once updated the rear windows of a red brick Edwardian house with anthracite grey powder coated new windows. A dark grey planter with some greenery either side of the front door would lift it. Bay trees or something similar....See MoreE D
