What colour are these walls? and where are the sofas from?

Do you suggest going lighter or darker sofas with dark walls?

Hi Anna, it depends on the look you're after. The dark sofas work really well in this room to keep the focus on the paneling and wallpaper. It also feeps a sense of space as the darker furniture blends away in the room. If you have light sofas, they would be the focus of the room and draw your eye there! Hope helps, Anna

how about a wallpaper to the other 3 walls a black pattern with a light background or the other way around black background wallpaper with a lighter print on. It could tie the room together better. As its a tv room it will give a nice warm feeling to it. The tan sofa will sit nicely and you can add cushions that have tan and black prints. Prestigious and harlequin have on nice options or possibly villa nova. i have attached a couple of images both very different in styling depending on your taste.

Hello Plymouthlass, You have a good amount of seating in your Living Room, and a nice, neutral grey to work from in the sofa fabric. I’d suggest adding some warmth and interest to the room. Wallpaper would work well; alternatively some eye catching art work would look great along the main wall behind the sofa with painted walls (re-hanging the existing mirror on a side wall). I’d then add a rug under your coffee table and two side tables either side of your small sofa. These side tables would be a great place to locate a pair of table lamps. If you need additional storage in your room, trunks rather than side tables would give you storage and table space. A big difference would be to add a touch of softness and texture to your window by adding a pair of curtains with tiebacks would be ideal. Don’t forget to try and fit your curtain pole near the ceiling as this creates the illusion of a greater ceiling height.

Elephant's Breath would work as it has a violet undertone. It would accentuate the golden colour of the floor, if that is what you want. A slightly warmer colour with a complementary tinge such as Shaded White or Dropcloth may also be worth considering. I would avoid anything too warm as there is enough warmth in the floor.

I've got Studio Green on one wall in my bedroom, it looks almost black but is a lovely colour. A tan leather sofa would look lovely against it, and wouldn't be a problem if you used a large rug to separate it from the floor. Natural linen which has a greyish pink hue looks beautiful with it too. Because it's so dark, anything that is lighter will stand out. the third image isn't Studio Green but it is lovely with the pale contrasts.
