Roman Blinds for Living Room......Help!!!

Hi there,I'm new to this forum. I am going round in circles here and was wondering if anyone can throw some ideas my way please?!

I have painted our living room in F&B Worsted and Cornforth White which look lovely. I want to put two large roman blinds at windows (thought about venetian blinds or shutters but we have leaded window so might look too busy). I thought originally grey blind but worried the front room will start to resemble the inside of a battle ship so I'm guessing grey with a splash of colour. I'd like furnishings to match, i.e. blinds and cushions or at the least depict colours from blinds that that tie in.

Can anybody recommend me some fabrics to go with grey walls please? I finished the walls months ago and the room remains empty because I just can't seem to finish it off!

Welcome! The blinds will need to tie in with any furniture you have, so a picture or two will really help. Also an idea of your decor style, do you like modern clean lines, a more traditional or country look or mid century?

I would definitely not use curtains, they will shrink the room! If you want to add a soft touch and texture you could use Roman Blinds p, which fold so you can keep them up like a pelmet. I would either use white linen, or something neutral like this one called Postcard Natural from Web Blinds. http://www.web-blinds.com/postcard-natural-roman-blind/ For the kitchen I would use a faux wood, wide slotted blind, which is moisture resistant, can be pulled right up or be tilted to provide just the right amount of privacy or shade. Hi lu9349 This is a really pretty window feature and I think that the addition of a window seat is an excellent idea here. Hi there, Below are a few pictures that might help to inspire. Roman blinds come in lots of different patterns, and you could choose one with a neutral background and a pop of colour on the pattern. The below floral design is warm but will still add interest. This blind has a subtle geometric design that catches the light. Alternatively, shutters could add to the textures, with an attractive wood stain or painted finish. Hiya, As others have suggested, a Roller blind with a blackout fabric would be great. You mention you struggle with space in your bedroom, and Roller blinds are really great at rolling up neatly, letting in as much light as possible during the day. And of course, you'll be able to pick a colour or pattern that enhances your design scheme, so your blind will become part of the overall look. A Roman blind is still an option available to you, but be aware if you fit it within the recess it will take up more room than a Roller blind when at the top of the window. Hi Debbie, some pictures of the room would be ideal, but in terms of roman blinds that would work with grey walls you could go with something like this grey Orla Kiely pattern
