utility room or walk in wardrobe?

our current ensuite is the old internal garage. Its 3m10 x 3m 30 and houses oir slide robes. we have the option of dividing it in half to make a utility room off the kitchen or walk in wardrobe from bedroom. We only have 3 bedrooms at present but plan to build an extension with master bedroom, ensuite and cloakroom in the future where our existing garage is. so which would you choose? We got a quote for 25k which includes work to kitchen but want to make the best decision even though we aren't planning on moving

Utility rooms are invaluable. Is there room for wardrobes in the bedroom, so do you really need the walk in wardrobe?

I've just designed my own walk in wardrobe after doing them for clients for years. I'm going for the "Carrie from Sex and the City" layout, where you walk through the wardrobe to the ensuite. Unfortunately, my wardrobe will not be stuffed full of designer labels though! NB it is also the pre Mr Big wardrobe, yikes, don't ever think I'd have a house big enough for that one!!!

Yes, the second pic is how it is now, but it doesn't work. There's no wall for a dressing table (it's currently half in front of the window but blocks wardrobe access), and my husband would like a tv in a normal place, currently on the window wall right next to the head of the bed, so barely watchable. The wardrobes are ok, but that's the only storage we have and they need improving if nothing else. I just feel there's so many 'little' things wrong I'd like to find a wider solution. You cannot beat a good rest when you awake to a beautiful view or picture rather than wardrobes or clothes hanging from them. So the walk in wardrobe for me. Just completed my extension and it was on my wish list. Now seen new project so will miss walk in but planned to have both as struggling to relax with washing machine going.

In your kitchen plan the space between the wall run and the island is massive - maybe 1.3 or 1.4m? It should be more like 1m otherwise you will find the two surfaces are inconveniently far apart. That also means there is more space for a dining table than it looks like from your plans. Do you have a cellar? If not then the understairs space is available for a WC, you might need to carve a small corner out of the kitchen to add to the understairs space depending on its size. Or if you do have a cellar the wc can go where Jonathan has put it (entrance can be from the understairs area if you have the height, or from the kitchen if not). Is there somewhere upstairs you could put a laundry room/area? In or near a bathroom perhaps?

there is room but not much and would have 2m 20 width max and you would be walking into the side as you come into the room
