Comments (7)You should always do a watered down mist coat on new plaster. We used the dulux trade matte diamond paint from a dulux mixing centre. Whilst it is brilliant for being able to wipe stuff off it I would say it had more of a sheen to it then I wanted so wouldn't recommend for ceilings. Comments (11)I would paint too, doesn’t have to be white though, depends on the style of the rest of your home. And door doesn’t have to be same as rest of woodwork. I’ve painted my pine doors and woodwork dark in my current house and in my last house I painted all the doors off black but kept all the woodwork white since all the walls were white there....See Morewhich way should internal doors open?
Comments (12)Minnie - I was going to leave about 3’ or so behind the sofa - so bit wider than the door so it doesn’t feel too cramped. Matt - I know rules for rooms of door opening in is best for bedrooms (so you don’t see the bed straight away in case people are naked, ha ha) but wasn’t sure what’s best for this room....See MoreKristina
