Will this wood floor go with the mood board and existing features in a
Comments (6)Thank you the room is a through room between the hall and the stairs then the lounge. which are are open plan though I am thinking of a built in shelf unit under the landing beam. There is a lot of light in the day through the large picture windows either side. The wood is from the Woodpecker range and is Flink Dark Oak Plank. I would also have a rug along the floor where the main walk way is possibly. The house is an old cottage which has been extended and features added like beams and brick. I am looking to update it but keep the features. I have attached a photo of my downstairs cloakroom as an example!...See Morehow can I create kerb appeal
Comments (14)Hi, I'm of the same ilk as The Bulb co above, not a natural born gardener but clean and tidy with a few feature plants is great. A couple of plants that perform well for me, (mainly because i don't have to do anything are), 'red robin' and the Pieris Japonica which is the red one you have in the front garden by the looks of things. Both are evergreen and take very little care, well in my garden anyway. An occasional cut of the red robin keeps new growth coming through red. About once a year. If you can move the light a little further to the right as you look at the house it's let you show off the architectural detail of your doorway a little better. Finally your home is pretty, it's looks well built and honest and that has a charm that many modern homes lack. Comments (30)Hi Danni we have a north facing hall with a tendency to be dark in spite of a glass door and window, however we painted the hall in F&B White Tie , installed more lighting and painted all the woodwork white plus an oak Amtico floor. Now much warmer, continued the yellow base with F&B White Tie, New White painted furniture and Matchstick feature wall in the adjacent lounge so it flows....See MoreCan I add an overhang to my island to create a sitting area?
Comments (12)Hi, Gillian, If you have the 300-400mm recommended above there is no reason not to have the seating area but yes, you would pretty much lose access to the drawer. You could replace the existing drawer/cupboard combination with just cupboards, if that is a possibility for you, that way you would get all the storage and could use it for items you don't need to get at very often. It's all a balance; how much you would gain by having the seating, vs losing the drawer (or having to re-do the drawer/cupboard combination)....See MoreOnePlan
