chair and light fitting dilemma

Hi lovely houzz community, I would love to get some thoughts on some new chairs for my dining table as I'm not a fan of the ones I have. I like the shape but the fabric cover (faux leather ) isn't very nice. I like the Danish style chairs but as the table is high (30 inches) the ones I've seen online are too low. I would also love to get your thoughts on what light fitting could work above?

I would paint the bookcase and the the wall in a similar grey to your armchair,Create "boxes" by painting some shelves pale grey and a couple in mustard . Maybe back one box in mirror glass to put some coloured glasses/decanters on as a drinks unit. Put your pale mustard photo frame into the darker box and collect interesting items using the same colour theme. Hope that helps!

Lovely lamp shade! Where did you find it? I have a similar dilemma when looking for light fittings. We have a Thirties house, and trying to find something in keeping but not OTT is difficult. We have high ceilings too, and I do dislike looking at bare lightbulbs from below. Husband also makes a fuss as he says all modern shades and bulbs aren't bright enough! Ambient light means nothing to him

Well done. My OH built something similar years ago in one of our bedrooms to house the hot water cylinder. You’ve done a much better job 😂. You could build another narrower one and put folded jumpers, shoes or even towels and bedding in it. Would you even get a free standing wardrobe that narrow? Or if you don’t need the storage space, a narrow dressing table and mirror would look good. There are loads for sale online. Just chucking ideas at you 😊
