Love the wood floor!

Do you know the brand or name of the wood floor? It does not have any knots. That is great! Were the knots selected out?

This floor was arranged by the client but you should search for 'prime grade' oak, which will has less knots than normal.

Thank you the room is a through room between the hall and the stairs then the lounge. which are are open plan though I am thinking of a built in shelf unit under the landing beam. There is a lot of light in the day through the large picture windows either side. The wood is from the Woodpecker range and is Flink Dark Oak Plank. I would also have a rug along the floor where the main walk way is possibly. The house is an old cottage which has been extended and features added like beams and brick. I am looking to update it but keep the features. I have attached a photo of my downstairs cloakroom as an example!

Hi Jaclyn, we always recommend laying the flooring in the direction of your light source. The effect is more attractive and can help to emphasise those beautiful grain patterns and natural textures that we love about wood flooring. As your kitchen is longer than it is wide, you'll be able to lay a good few lengths down the room and this will look really impressive as you walk in. We wouldn't worry about this meaning the planks are laid a different way to your living room - it's how the room looks when you're in it that counts! (:

Hi Jen, what colours are you going for on the walls of this space? And do you have a lot of light coming in? Just remember that dark flooring can make a space feel smaller whereas light flooring can create an open, airy feel.
