I love this bathroom makeover and am very tempted to do the same. Our bathroom dimensions are even smaller : 1.2m x 2.5. Do you think we could get away with the same dark tiles and the bold paint colour (ie without it tying in to anywhere else in the house). Also, at the sink, where do you put your soap, toothbrush, toothbrush etc? We currently have a small glass shelf above the sink for this stuff but keeping it would ruin the sleek minimalist design. What do you think? Thanks!

Like where you are going with the blue. Keep the curtains straight, no tie backs, replace the blind with no frills and change your occasional furniture to something more like the tv set up - not wood as your floor is wood and it makes it look at bit "twee". Darker blue/grey on the chimney breast maybe and paler walls, also more textured cushions in different shapes to add interest in neutral colours. The blues look good on your fire place and the picture too. Instead of gold why not add a brighter yellow, like the daffs, to bring modernity to the scheme? Good luck!

Might sound crazy but a subtle two tone might work not colour blocking but a gradual subtle shade diff a soft off white blue grey teal on top that will not fight against the very bright white window frames and keeping a small room light.. and then getting to a soft blue grey darker teal colour with a soft graded border. And consider painting the unit soft white with an all surface soft white mat or soft sheen paint. Pop up a large piece B&W family photo or a family picked piece of wall art or something wacky like a giant gold fish on a white background framed in a thin bright orange frame and job done...or look up dark snugs/dens with rich bold colours can work well if done correctly .. good luck..

Hi Jo! I keep all my bits and pieces at the other end of the bath where I have all my storage - including little pots for toothbrushes, facial wash, etc.

I think if you go bold, you go truly bold, up and onto the ceiling! This will stop it from having too many contrasting lines and distractions and allow for the bold tiles and colour to really pop.

Thanks so much for replying Amy 🙂 A final couple of questions, if I may: is the coloured line on your floor tile grey or light brown? It’s hard to tell from the photos. Also, where did you source your bath from? Thanks 🙏

Hi Jo, it's grey - part of a vinyl print, not real grouted lines! Bath is from Victoria Plumbing.
