wall to wall ikea pax wardrobe advice

Hello guys, I'm hoping to get a pax wardrobe to fill a space of 335cm. I'm getting 2x100, a 50 and a 75. This will leave a void of 7.5 cm on one side if I accounts for the skirting boards. I have not yet put the skirting boards on the back - both to save some space - it's a small room and I have a massive bed (that I can't afford to downsize due to funds)- and also so that it can sit flush against the wall.

I firstly wanted to ask what to fill the gap between the wall and the floor with? I didn't know realise it was going to to be so big! Is it OK to leave it just like that?

Secondly, I've attached pictures of the wardrobe arrangement that i have in mind and the space where it's going. Any suggestions on which side I should have the 2 x100s (they are mine) and the 75 and 50 (for other half) as the 75 has a small plain door - should it go against the wall or the window side?

Finally, should I box off the 7.5cm gap or are there any ideas for what do to with it?

I would centre the pax wardrobe so that instead of one 7.5cm gap you have two smaller equal ones on both sides. This would give it symmetry and you’d simply cease to see them—oh, and board them in as chances are they’d just become hard to clean dust traps. Try an app like Room Arranger to play with it. Personally I find ikea’s design tools a very useful starting point and great for pricing things out, but not too flexible for more bespoke arrangements.

paint everything above 2.5m in a dark colour which makes it seem less high. Consider a raspberry pink or a claret.

Brian, I strongly suspect any solution similar to those in the photos you have supplied will be extremely expensive. As you have mentioned, you have already had one company provide a price which was at a price you envisaged. Unfortunately, a designer solution such as this is rarely scalable in terms of size, the fact that you are mobilising a designer, fitter etc. will carry a substantial price from the outset. The previous suggestions offered by professionals on this site suggested by B&Q and Ikea are clearly at a different price point, but nonetheless a solution to the dilemma you presented.

Bespoke joinery is always better to achieve maximum of storage from space you got. However with PAX there is option to match up for saving cost, however you are limited to size, if you got 190cm you need to fit 150cm and have covering panels. We did in few houses to get lower cost build in units, that we put it in PAX wardrobes and we made bespoke side panels and framing, skirting so when you close them it looks like bespoke, where inside is still IKEA.
