garden water feature
Comments (1)Hi, if you'd like something big I'd go for a fountain in a pool or cascading waterfall and include lighting for the extra wow factor. Bear in mind that it won't come cheap....See MoreI am looking for a water feature incorporating a fire pit

Comments (6)Hi Carolina thanks so much for taking the time to advise. I like the look of the water running down the hill but wonder if that might work better in a different setting. The side sections of the rockery are very close to the main living room patio. i really like the idea of the water running down from the top but I wonder it might be too much of a tight squeeze for the pond part as the lawn is very narrow above it and to the retaining wall, such a skinny strip to play with. It is so frustrating! Or did you mean putting the pond part on the bottom section? Sorry! I suppose this is another option but nowhere near as attractive as your suggestions but if the pond isn't an option on the middle section, what do you think about something like this wall hung in centre of bottom wall?...See MoreHow to create this water feature to step across in garden???
Comments (3)As above, put in a ring footing for the outer walls and some pad footings in where the stepping stones will be. Build the outer walls with blockwork to the required depth of the pool and then install a box welded butyl liner. This will alleviate the need for unsightly folds in the corners and it is easier to set the paving on the edges, allow for a couple of centimetres overlap of the top paving. Now build the blockwork on top of the liner for the stepping stones, again making sure the blockwork is slightly smaller than the slab dimensions as this helps make the stepping stones look like their floating. Paint the blockwork black under the stepping stones and this will make them less obvious....See MoreTom Howard Garden Design and Landscaping
