Comments (17)Update -- my plumber finally returned. Not sure what he did while here, but he told me again it wasn't working -- then he did some work on a radiator which had a small leak. We were having a long discussion about options on pumps, new showers, taps etc and I read out the installation guide and he tried it again, and suddenly it worked. It is bizarre as I don't know how many times i tried it previously. My friend who works in construction ALSO called earlier today and tried it several times to no avail. It must have been extremely stiff or perhaps the plumber realised some airlock whilst fixing the radiator since I think water pressure is much stronger since he went. Thanks for everyones help -- i learned lots on plumbing and a valuable lesson to take out the installation manuals myself and not trust that trades men know everything!!! I feel like celebrating!!...See MoreHow can I make this bathroom interesting?
Comments (6)Hi Karl, not sure if still looking for inspiration, but I notice your shower screen right next to the sink which can create another barrier. Please do check out my shower blinds which are installed onto the ceiling, creating more space, future proofing bathrooms for easy updates/renovations and no mould or mildew....See MoreMake one bathroom smaller? Comments (18)I've been thinking about options to cover all basis and came up with this. To allow guests to use a bath/shower the ensuite would be shared. I added a wall in the master bedroom to divide it and add privacy so guests don't have to walk into the bedroom to get to the bath/shower. The upsides are that the ensuite is larger, includes a bath and shower and has more vanity room. Also, by diving the bedroom I can add sort of a walk-in wardrobe. The downsides are that there's only one bath/shower that has to be shared and guests have to walk through the walk-in wardrobe to get to it. Also, it reduces the size of the master bedroom but it's quite a long room anyway and it would cut out the light from the windows in the bedroom. Personally I don't see these as big problems but I guess some people won't like it. Do you think this is a good idea?...See Morebathroom shower help - controls on entry?
Comments (30)Tani H-S, you are not the only one who has been trying to do their bathroom for one year :-). I realised I have mis-read your post, I thought you were having a shower door as well rather than a just a fixed shower screen, in that case, it doesn't make sense to have the separate shower hose on the opposite side of the fixed shower head. How about having the separate shower hose and outlet come out of the same wall as the fixed shower head ( pipes behind same wall ) but with the outlet as near as possible to the corner of where the short wall and long wall meet and then have an additional 'hook' on the long wall ( like julesbird2014 ) so that when you are washing the dog, you can move the shower head to the side hook and you won't get wet when you put the water on as the water will spray away from you towards the glass. When you are shampooing the dog, you can put the shower head on the side hook rather than having to reach over the dog and put the head on the hook of where the fixed shower head is or leave it on the shower floor which means the water will spray everywhere unless you turn the water off. Keep the controls on opposite side of fixed shower head ( stud wall ). Are you sure a 1.1m shower screen is sufficient to prevent water coming out? I was told by several shops that it was best to have a 1.2m screen if having walk in shower and minimum 1.7m long shower. I know space could be limited to 1.6m hence the reason for a 1.1m shower screen but if screen is too short then it would be really annoying if you find that water keeps coming out after you have used it. Have you considered looking into having frameless sliding doors instead? Sometimes the glossy photos look amazing with fixed shower screens but if they are too short, it's not practical....See MoreHU-777304305
