Improve kerb appeal of 1958 bungalow
Comments (20)A lovely sized bungalow! I think the problem here is that the scape seems to blend into one and there is no focal point. A coat of paint to the render would work wonders and I agree with the other comments to add in and change the current shrubbery. If you have chance to change the doors, I would suggest a colour other than brown, with so much roof space the brown is very overwhelming. I would also suggest some outside downlighting against the render. Good lighting can improve the look of any home. This doesn't have to be expensive either. Hope this helps and good luck...See Morekerb appeal - 1960s dormer bungalow
Comments (3)Hi Lauren. First thing I’d do is clean the drive (or is the man already doing this;)) Replace the blinds. The vertical ones look dated and quite yellowy, I’d perhaps go for sheer roller blinds or white wood Venetians in both upstairs and down. In the porch if you have no other room to hang coats I’d perhaps use a blind here as well, but if you can hang coats elsewhere a nice vase of flowers would be welcoming. The strip where the pots are looks tidy but add a third pot, I always think things look better in 3’s. Who is responsible for the fence behind the pots, it could do with replacing. If it’s the neighbours responsibility then you might be able to ask them and come up with some arrangement but if not then get some cheap trellis, paint a nice colour and attach on your side. I nice painted trough with some plants in would look perfect under the front window. You could possibly paint the render/pebble dash but it would mean more maintenance. Last thing is you can see down the left of the drive to the rear garden, will you be putting a gate or fence on this side?Just been having a look at your other posts and see that you needed help with the rear garden as well. How’s it going? Or is it still work in progress? Here’s some ideas for trough planters:...See Moremaximising kerb appeal - front door colour thoughts!
Comments (21)@Barbara S Just good old Photoshop! @pipparini Another way to go about this is to paint the door your all time favorite colour. It will put a smile on your face every time you come home! And be sure to paint it blue when you are about to sell :)...See MoreKerb appeal challenge!! 1970's bungalow
Comments (42)Thanks very much Carolina for taking the time and trouble to do the mock ups. They really help. I like the orange, green and yellow. Would you do the side double timber gates in the same colour as the front door or match them instead with the oak window frames? Colourhappy - yes the house design is that way. Its ok to say it 🙂. In terms of the front garden, I'm thinking along the lines of a coastal gravel garden scheme with structured shrubs combined with herbaceous flowering/ foliage plants....See Morelsdelaney
