Hello I am interested in the AntiSlip Pro version of the Bette Floor shower tray. Have you any close up photos of that please. If possible, without water so I can see the finish/ texture. Thank you

Good morning stroalki. There's no hard and fast "rule" to tiling selections. there simply has to be a certain cohesiveness to it all. Take a look at this bath I just finished. It looks alittle "much" in the pic, but really all works when your in it. So my advice would be get samples of the tile you want to use, and let the Pros here at Houzz helpyou tie it all together. Just remember a bath full of water and a person ( or even two !) is extremely heavy !! We aren't taking a quick DIY step of MDF and 2"x2" here !! Does depend on how high you want to go, and how strong the existing floor is... Worth getting a pro on to look and advise on site !!! An Anti slip surface might be a good idea too - as the step will be the first thing your wet feet will be in contact with !! Be worth it for the views I'm sure !! Enjoy !!!

It's not so much a case of the stain or paint, its more about where to get smooth faced decking that isn't going to cost the earth. If I can get a cheaper decking that I stain and varnish which will look as good as the above photos, i'll be happy. I know it wont have the same robustness or durability of Balau or Cedar, but if I keep the regular treatment then it should last

I think you pretty much covered it in your question. Granite has a grip, it is extremely hardwearing. it will stain however if you don't seal it. the stains tend to wash/bleach out over time though. my opinion is that it being a natural product the slight variations that will occur between each stone are exactly what makes it nice. Ceramic tiles may be the better option to provide the uniformity you require. there are more and more of these being brought to the market and they are extremely popular. the finishes vary and non slip ones are out there. the great asset is that they can be cleaned very easily. Couple that with the ease of grouting/pointing (you will be able to use a wet grouting mix and clean off as you go) it makes for a very practical solution. they will need to be laid on a concrete screed for best results which is an added cost.
