Decisions, decisions!!!!.............whole house renovation!
Comments (4)Hello Scott, Adding to Jonathan's suggestions, Look at the bones of the space first before worrying about what's going in it.. To an extent.. You really do need to consider what the end result is that you want.. It doesn't have to be in enormous detail but it really does need thinking about as a whole.. Once the bones have been decided then you can flesh out the scheme... So unless you're making structural alterations and or requirements that need engineers, architects etc.. You may need these but you may only need a builder- that all depends on the works.. then you could work with an interior designer once you're closer to getting to where you need to be in order to start decorating and filling the home with furnishings etc.. It might also be a good idea to work with a designer initially to consider what should stay or what you can address to retain the character or inject that which may have been lost.. Someone who can advise you on a look that compliments you and your family? and of course the house.. Whether that be kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms or gardens. What oven, what sofa, what plant.. For a full and coherent look at the house as a whole regardless of whether you do it all at once. : ))...See MoreAluclad front door ....decisions decisions
Comments (0)I'm probably overthinking things but I'm have a front door dilemma... The architects concept for the entrance to our new house is it to be dark, enclosed and protective so when the door opens it reveals a very light space with a full height corner window showing views over the garden to sea and mountains. I love this concept but there's something niggling me! The front door is planned to be Black Aluclad with vertical lines mimicking the cladding . I'm concerned that the vertical indented lines will just look false. We will use this door a lot, as will out big dog who like to try to open doors.. I'm worried if the Aluminium cladding will not stand up to claws, at least wood can be sanded down and repainted. Does anyone have an aluclad door, how does it stand up to wear? As I'm writing this I'm seeing that the problem is the type of door. There's a niggle saying I'd prefer it to be a wood clad door continuing the larch cladding but I'd have no idea where to start as the window company don't offer anything like this. Any ideas that may help clear my total indecision?...See Morebay window colour. white windows right decision?
Comments (11)Thank you guys for your advice took it on bored. Gonna paint the bay eventually called rock salt creamy with slight bit of grey. The windows look so much better. Then think the drive needs to be on the list after someone had an accident with the wall....See MoreExterior pebbledash paint colour decision
Comments (8)If your photo shows the current situation, perhaps you can consider painting the upvc windows instead. The render colour looks good to me and would work well with soft (sage?) green windows....See MoreE D
