Windows Design Dilemma

what colour blinds go with brown uvpc windows?

Trying to modernise our conservatory but no time to paint the brown uvpc interior and have no idea what colour blinds to choose. We are going to have a teal/green feature wall and accessories with gold accents.

Hi, a picture will help us advise. There are many blind options and the colour is reliant on the furnishings and flooring, not just the window colour.

It looks like you have neutral bedding, carpet and curtains already so you can put any colour on the walls. When you look at testers make sure that you like it in electric light. If it were my room I would choose a stronger colour as it will be broken up by a lot of neutrals......I say take inspiration from the rest of your house- choose a colour from the same pallet to those used in other rooms so that the each room feels like it has come from the same imagination and has a sense of increased space and flow.

I personally have made several roman blinds for kitchen windows and prefer these as they give softer lines than roller blinds, but it depends on the style of your decor to a certain extent. Both the style of blinds in the above kitchens look lovely, because they go with the rooms (the softer edging to blinds on the more trad kitchen, the plain white on modernist one). If you want some color, you can choose the fabric and make either style yourself from a kit, which gives you much more flexibility. Purchased blinds (if they are any quality at all) are much too expensive for what they are, in my opinion!

I would personally go for the aubergine velvet (thrid from right) with either a central 10cm wide horizontal stripe in the bronze silk (second from left) or with a 15cm wide band of the bronze silk at the bottom. - or both - just a thought! It would lend colour and texture and you could repeat it on a couple of large cushions, then have a slightely smaller couple in augbergine and a slightly smaller still couple in the bronze silk. We have golden oak upvc which I was struggling to match blinds with. I felt it had to be matching Venetian and that was too much oak for me. We’re going to paint the inside white then have white perfect fit blinds
